Testing:
Our final part of MAP testing will conclude this Wednesday morning. Please make sure your student is well rested and that they eat a good breakfast Wednesday morning.
ELA:
Here is an overview of the things we will be learning in class this week in reading.

As seen in my previous email:
Good afternoon! I will be sending out a weekly update tomorrow (I apologize for not getting that done last week), but I wanted to go ahead and reach out a little sooner about something we’ll be doing this week. Our essential question in reading is “What makes a pet special?”. The kids will be be talking and reading about whats makes pets special and how to take care of them. I would LOVE for anyone who has pets at home to email me a picture of that pet (or pets). My plan is to share these with the class so we can each create a pic collage including the pictures and other things surrounding the topics we learn this week.
Let me know if you have any questions.
I look forward to seeing all the pictures of your furry friends. :)
Math:
Here is an overview of what we will be learning this week in math.

We will be using an app called epic! in class this year. It is very effective at engaging kids in reading. Here is some information for you to keep up with what your student is reading as well as how to log in at home if you'd like. Let me know if you have any questions.

Today I will be sending home your student’s family journal. At the beginning of each week, your student will write a letter to you. It will include what he/she is learning in the classroom and any other information your student would like to share with you.
Please write a letter back to your student. Please use your best print handwriting. This allows for me and your student to read what you wrote and it provides a model for your student! Once you write back to your student, please send the journal back to school by Friday.
