APEX - Pledging is NOW OPEN!

I’m so excited to tell you about the Apex Leadership Co program that will be at our school for the next two weeks! The Apex program teaches leadership traits and fitness to our students who are raising pledges for our all school Fun Run on Thursday, October 24th .

Apex’s leadership and character theme this year is Apex GAME ON! Students will join the Apex Squad on an exciting journey as they learn what it takes to be a game changing leader:

  • Go Getter

  • Appreciate

  • Move Forward

  • Explore

  • Others First

  • Now What?

Here’s how the fundraiser works

  • Each student will be bringing home an Apex Pledge Kit today.

  • Login at www.MyApexEvent.com using the access code found on the front of the pledge kit.

  • Connect with sponsors (family and friends) by sharing your students pledge page by text, email, on Facebook and Twitter. It’s super easy!

  • All pledges and payments are made online*.

  • Sponsors can either make a $ pledge per lap or a flat $ donation! If sponsors make a $ pledge per lap, their credit card is charged after the Fun Run.

  • A $30 flat donation is equivalent to a $1 per lap pledge for prize calculation.

  • Students will average between 26 and 36 laps, with a 36-lap max. Each lap is 1/16th of a mile.

  • Our class has a goal of reaching $5 per lap for each student, or $150 in flat donations.

What we’re raising funds for

The majority of the funds raised this year will go to our school to pay for a new Maker Space area for our students! However, the school has promised that a percentage of whatever is raised by each class goes directly to that teacher to purchase items for their own classroom. That’s exciting!

With your help, I’d love to purchase these items for our classroom: (classroom supplies, books, and snacks).

Please help us reach our goal. If you need your child’s access code to login at www.MyApexEvent.com please let me know. I hope to see you at the Fun Run next week!

Thank you!

*Cash and check donations are still accepted and should be turned into the school any time before the Fun Run, so that students receive credit.

Reading Logs

For the month of October, students should log around 200 minutes of reading at home. The minutes should be a combination of students reading aloud, as well as enjoying listening to reading or reading with an adult. Please return the reading log for October at the beginning of the next month.

This Week in Reading

Please continue having your child practice reading our unit 1 sight words at home if you notice they have not mastered them. We are learning lots of words quickly and it's important for them to not forget the ones we learned in he past! :)
