Hello Parents!

This is our final week of unit 3 in reading, which means we are reviewing what we’ve learned the past 5 weeks. We will not have a weekly assessment or a spelling test this Friday. Instead of having your kiddo study for those, please take a few minutes to sit down with them and look at the unit 3 words on our sight word list (attached). Your child should be able to read all of the words up to that point (units 1-3). I will be meeting with each kid within the next week to check off which words they know.

Additionally, this Friday we will be celebrating our 100th day of school! We will spend the day celebrating and practicing some important math skills. I would love if your child could bring 100 of some small item to school that day for us to use for various activities. The items should fit in either a clear water bottle or a sandwich sized Ziploc bag. A few examples of items your child could bring include; beads, buttons, q-tips, cotton balls, pennies, marbles, pieces of dry cereal, paper clips, etc. If you are short on time or are unable to make this happen, please let me know and I’ll bring something for your child. Lastly, I thought it would be super fun and engaging for the kids if we all dressed like we are 100 years old! This part is obviously not required, but feel free to have fun with it if you’d like. :)

As always, let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Holly Schoonover
