Good afternoon!

As you may have seen, there is a new rule that requires parent volunteers in the classroom AND FIELDTRIPS to be MVP Qualified.
Online Application: https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?AP=2106446739
If you are interested in becoming an MVP, feel free to email me for more information.
We will have our first field trip on Friday, September 28th to Deanna Rose Farmstead. It will be from 10:30am-12:30pm. We will leave around 10:00am and return around 1:00pm. The cost is $6, per person. We will eat lunch on site, so students and volunteers will need to bring a sack lunch.

We can have three adult volunteers join us on our trip to help supervise and help students. If you would like to attend and help, please let me know! Permission slips and further information will be sent home soon.
Reading:
We are starting Unit 1, Week 1! Below are a few skills and concepts we will be learning:
Essential Question: What do you do at your school?
Oral Vocabulary Words: learn, subjects
Phonics: short a
High Frequency Words: does, not, school, what
Comprehension Strategy: identify key details in a story
Math:
We will continue working on number bonds and building addition fluency with numbers to 10.
MAP Testing:
We will have our first MAP test this Wednesday at 8:45am. This will provide us with baseline data to start placing kids in small groups and targeting instruction to meet their needs. If your child does not have headphones yet, it is crucial that they have them by Wednesday so that they can hear their test and do their best. We have a few extras, but our supply is very limited.
